Kirk’s Motorrad Shop

About the Project

Kirk’s Motorrad Shop is a BMW Specialist bike shop with a large online following. With over 19,000 subscribers on YouTube and more than 100 patrons on Patreon at the time of this project, Kirk’s Motorrad is a local business with global reach. Because of this scenario, the line between local business and online influencer was blurred. This presented us with a challenge.

Primary goal:
Book bike repairs

Secondary goal:
Promote the YouTube channel

What we did:

  • Website Design
  • Domain configuration
  • Search Engine Optimization

Website URL:
kirksmotorrad.com

Establish Credibility

To achieve our goals, we needed to gain trust from visitors. We start by using a photo of the owner on a BMW motorcycle. This shows common interest between the owner (business) and the visitor.

The next step we take is put a face behind the business. Studies show that adding a human face to your website can dramatically increase conversions. We also give some more depth to the personality of the owner we just introduced in the section above.

Add Context

Now that the visitor is interested in the business, it's time to tell them more about what it is this business is all about. In the next sections of the site, we tell the visitor what Kirk's Motorrad does and where their specialties are by using a simple and modern card layout.

Call to Action

Our last step is to call the visitor to take action. We do this by placing two paths in front of the visitor. The first path is to support the YouTube channel which aligns with our secondary goal. The second path calls visitors to start a bike repair project which aligns with our primary goal.

Finishing Touches

On our way out the digital door, we wanted to make this site pop! Using the alternate versions of the logo provided, we created an animation for the logo in the header of the website. This animation removes the large and detailed logo and allows the simpler, BMW motorcycle logo to come racing into view. Users simply scroll down on the page to activate the animation
